The Pine Grove Alumni Program
Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services offers lifetime recovery support services to every patient who completes a Pine Grove residential treatment program. During treatment, Pine Grove creates the foundation for long-term contented recovery, and putting that education to work often begins when patients leave the treatment environment and integrate into the real world. The Pine Grove Alumni Program is designed to support the recovery process after treatment through a variety of programs that support our patients’ continued recovery.
The Pine Grove Network Program
The Pine Grove Network Program connects alumni with patients during treatment to begin a positive relationship prior to discharge. This creates a bond and opens the door for the newly sober to pick up the phone and ask for help when they return home. This program helps to connect alumni when they relocate or travel. Sometimes an exiting patient may be the first alumni in their home town, and it’s beneficial to their recovery to connect them with fellow Pine Grove alumni. Exiting patients find it helpful to talk with alumni via e-mail or phone calls. Permission to connect is requested, and participation is voluntary.
The Days of Hope Weekend Retreat
The Days of Hope Weekend Retreat is an annual event, and it offers alumni an extended version of Pine Grove’s Days of Hope event, which is offered throughout the year. Alumni and their families return to Pine Grove’s campus to re-connect with staff and current patients. The weekend concludes with a spiritual send off on Sunday morning.
The Gratitude Reunion
The annual Gratitude Reunion is an established Pine Grove tradition. Gratitude alumni enjoy a specifically tailored reunion for that program. Pine Grove has hosted alumni from several countries at this event. During the reunion, alumni and their families reconnect with Gratitude staff and meet with current patients to provide hope and healing, while enjoying Mississippi’s excellent cuisine.
Back to Basics
Back to Basics is an integral part of the Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services’ residential treatment program. The Back to Basics program was originally created by Wally P., who is known within the recovery community for rediscovering the 12 Step meeting format from the programs’ early days in the 1940’s. The Pine Grove alumni team spends a day with our residential program patients on a quarterly basis for Back to Basics. This lecture is also part of Pine Grove’s dedicated Family Week itinerary. Pine Grove’s Alumni Program will also tailor a Back to Basics presentation for the organization’s alumni in locations beyond South Mississippi. For inquiries about this service, please contact Carver Brown, Alumni Coordinator, via e-mail at email@example.com
Pine Grove's Alumni Program offers recovery support to the families of the alumni of Pine Grove's residential treatment programs. Family members are invited to attend Days of Hope, the annual Gratitude Reunion and the Days of Hope Weekend Retreat. During these recovery support events, the families follow a curriculum presented by Pine Grove's Family Program. This format gives families an opportunity to interact with other families in recovery. Families receive a better understanding of what it is like when their family member reintegrates into the family system after completing treatment at Pine Grove.
Structured Family Recovery™
Structured Family Recovery™ is a program at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services that outlines how each family member impacts a patient's recovery after treatment. Developed by Pine Grove Consultant Debra Jay, this program creates a defined family support system which can provide empathy, understanding, and accountability once a patient completes residential treatment.
