Anthony Calabrese, Ph.D.
Dr. Anthony Calabrese is a licensed psychologist in Mississippi, New York, and Alabama. He is the Director of Psychology and Outpatient Services for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. He also serves as Interim Director of Pine Grove’s Next Step program and as the Chief Psychologist for the doctoral internship in professional psychology program. Dr. Calabrese completed his doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at The University of Southern Mississippi in 1996. His clinical training included a doctoral psychology internship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and is a member of both the American Psychological Association and the Mississippi Psychological Association.
Roopsi Bassi, MD
Dr. Bassi graduated from the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chandigarh, India and completed her residency at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Dr. Bassi is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and Mississippi Psychiatric Association. She primarily sees adult patients at Pine Grove Outpatient Services and provides psychiatric consultations at Forrest General Hospital. Dr. Bassi joined the Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services team in 2015.
Siddeeqah Bilal, MD
Dr. Siddeeqah Bilal earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, MS., and her Masters of Public Health degree in Epidemiology from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. She is a graduate of The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS., where she also completed her Psychiatry Residency. Dr. Bilal is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Mississippi Psychiatric Association, and the National Association of Mental Illness. Dr. Bilal was also a Maternal and Child Health Research Fellow through the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH), and was placed with the Mississippi State Department of Health in Jackson, MS., where she investigated the risk factors associated with sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and determined barriers for preventative prenatal care in rural areas of North Mississippi. She is also a member of Postpartum Support International and is currently in the process of applying for National Perinatal Certification, which was established in 2018. Additionally, Dr. Bilal’s annual continual medical education credit trainings are tailored to perinatal psychopharmacology and therapy. Dr. Bilal joined the Pine Grove medical staff in 2018, where she treats adult patients within Pine Grove’s Outpatient Services Department.
Patricia Calabrese, PMHNP-BC
Patricia Calabrese is a graduate of Adelphi University School of Nursing in Garden City, New York. Ms. Calabrese received her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Maryland and completed her post graduate studies at The University of Southern Mississippi. She is a licensed Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Mississippi. She is also accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since 1986 and as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 2004. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Prior to coming to Pine Grove, Ms. Calabrese coordinated both neonatal ICU and Child Psychiatric Units, in addition to work in Psychiatric consultation. Ms. Calabrese joined the Pine Grove Staff in 1992 as Director of Adult and Child & Adolescent Services, coordinating patient treatment delivery, staff management, new program development, marketing, and physician relations. She coordinated Pine Grove’s staff education from 1997-2003. Ms. Calabrese currently treats child and adolescent patients at Pine Grove Outpatient Services doing assessments, medication management and therapy. She is often published in the areas of ADHD, bullying and parenting education.
Vanessa Cox, MSW, LCSW, CMAT
Vanesa Cox is a Licensed Certified Social Worker and Social Work Supervisor. She received her Bachelor of Social Work and her Master of Social Work Degrees from The University of Southern Mississippi and is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and as a Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CMAT). Cox presently provides EMDR therapy to Pine Grove’s Specialty Treatment Program patients and has been a part of the Pine Grove team since October of 2005. She has also worked as the Clinical Director for Pine Grove’s Women Center and Next Step programs. Cox worked in the fields of addiction and mental health for sixteen years as House Manager, Counselor Associate, Counselor, and Clinical Director prior to joining Pine Grove.
Ted Crawford, LMFT
Ted Crawford LMFT, provides psychotherapy for clients through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) of Forrest General Hospital and at the Gratitude and Pine Grove Outpatient Services (PGOS) programs of Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services, He earned his undergraduate degree in Education in 1987 and his master’s degree in marriage and family therapy in1995 from The University of Southern Mississippi. Ted has also completed training in the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address trauma issues. His background includes work as an educator prior to coming to Pine Grove. In addition to working at EAP, Gratitude and PGOS currently, Pine Grove has also benefitted from Ted’s work at the Child & Adolescent Day Treatment and Professional Enhancement Programs and on the inpatient adult psychiatric unit. He enjoys writing and has written numerous informative (and entertaining) articles on clinical topics in a format that is easily understood by both professionals and patients. Ted has been employed with Pine Grove since 1998 and working with the EAP since 2001.
Jennifer DeFreese, BS
Jennifer DeFreese is the Physician Relations Coordinator for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. Her responsibilities include coordinating activities for Department of Psychiatry and Addictionology, credentialing, physician recruitment, physician orientation, and providing support services for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Service’s Residency Program. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration from University of Alabama in August 2015. Jennifer has been employed with Pine Grove since 1997.
Sergio Gutierrez, LCSW, BCBA
Sergio Gutierrez earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from Southern University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has over 24 years of professional experience in a variety of clinical settings. He is a clinical therapist with Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with specialty training in autism. He is a field supervisor and has served as an Adjunct Professor for The University of Southern Mississippi School of Social Work.
Ashley Holford, LCSW
Ashley Holford, LCSW, provides psychotherapy services for clients through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) of Forrest General Hospital and the Pine Grove Outpatient Services Program. Ashley earned her undergraduate degree in Public Administration from The University of Mississippi in 1994 and her master’s degree in social work from The University of Southern Mississippi in 1997. Her background includes work as a clinical therapist at Pine Grove’s adult, adolescent and children’s inpatient units conducting group, family and individual therapy. Ashley also has experience with geriatric psychiatric treatment as well as hospice social work. Ashley has been employed with Pine Grove since 1997 and has been working with the EAP program and as an outpatient clinical therapist since 2001.
Peter Kamp, MD
Dr. Kamp is a graduate of University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed the residency program at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. in 1990 and a Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship in 1991. Dr. Kamp is board certified is a member of the American Medical Association. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He joined the Pine Grove staff in 1991 and currently sees patients in an outpatient setting for assessment and medication management and serves as a Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist at Forrest General Hospital.
Deepak Khemka, MD
Dr. Deepak Khemka is board certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine. He joined the Pine Grove medical staff in 2012. He completed his psychiatry residency in 2011, followed by one year full time fellowship in Sleep Medicine, at The University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Khemka also teaches third and fourth year medical students from William Carey University. Dr. Khemka currently works as a staff psychiatrist on the adult psychiatric unit at Pine Grove and see patients on an outpatient basis for sleep medicine evaluations and follow up. He is a member of American Psychiatric Association and American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Manpreet Khemka, MD
Dr. Manpreet Khemka graduated from the Government Medical College in Aurangabad, India in 2004 and completed her residency at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Dr. Khemka joined Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services as a staff psychiatrist in 2014 and is a member of the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, and Mississippi Psychiatric Association. Dr. Khemka primarily sees patients on the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit located on Pine Grove’s main campus in Hattiesburg, MS.
Thomas Miller, MD, FAPA, FASAM, CEDS
After serving in the United States Army for two years, Dr. Miller attended The University of Southern Mississippi and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry. Dr. Miller subsequently earned a medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. After completing a psychiatry residency at Brown University, Dr. Miller finished a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Miller is board certified in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is board certified in Addiction Medicine through the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Miller is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. Dr. Miller is a member and Fellow of the American Psychiatry Association and the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Miller is additionally a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
Craig Paterson, Ph.D
Craig Paterson, Ph.D. received his doctorate in clinical psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi and completed his doctoral psychology internship at New Orleans Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Paterson is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Mississippi Psychological Association, he joined the Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services staff in 1992.
Chaz Richardson, DO
Dr. Charles “Chaz” Richardson is a graduate of The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS where he also completed his psychiatry residency. Dr. Richardson completed his fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at Emory University in Atlanta, GA and is a member of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, and Mississippi State Medical Association. Dr. Richardson joined the Pine Grove staff in 2018 and currently evaluates and treats adult patients for Pine Grove’s inpatient and residential treatment programs.
Bill Thornton, PMH-NP
Bill Thornton is a Nurse Practitioner for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. Thornton earned his associate’s degree in nursing from Jones County Junior College and his Master’s degree from The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Thornton is a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMH-NP) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
William S. Turner Jr., PMHNP-BC
William Turner is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) board-certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). He earned both his Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Southern Mississippi, graduating with honors, and receiving the National Collegiate Nursing Award. William is an associate member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), and provides treatment to patients within Pine Grove’s addiction treatment programs, including the Women’s Center, Next Step, Legacy, and Gratitude programs.
Christina Williams, Ph.D.
Dr. Christina Williams is a licensed psychologist providing outpatient services for children and adolescents at the Pine Grove Outpatient Services of Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. She earned her undergraduate degree and her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from The University of Mississippi. She successfully completed her pre-doctoral psychology internship at Pine Grove in 2009-2010. Following internship, Dr. Williams completed her postdoctoral training at the Professional Enhancement Program of Pine Grove. Dr. Williams has done professional presentations related to children and is co-author of a book chapter examining cultural issues involved in the assessment and treatment of children. She has also worked in inpatient, residential and outpatient settings with adults who have addictive disorders, disruptive behaviors, relational problems and personality issues. Prior to becoming Director of Training for Pine Grove’s Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology (PG-DIPP), Dr. Williams was Co-Director of Training and primary supervisor for interns working with children and adolescents on the Outpatient Services Rotation.
