"June of 2004 I arrived at Pine Grove for Detox. Little did I know how radically my life would change from that day foward. This year I was invited back to speak at Alumni Weekend and was introduced as "the sickest person who had ever been admitted" in June of 2004 my life was almost over, I was sick in mind, body and spirit and but for the grace of God would have died in that state.
Through excellent Medical care, an amazing program of recovery at Next Step and a loving group of other patients, I left in September, 2004 -strong,confident and full of faith and gratitude. My life is happier than I had ever imagined possible.
I am so grateful to Next Step and returning for alumni weekend reminded me of the radical difference in my life. It was great to see old friends and catch up with the people I knew during treatment. It was also eye-opening to see all the progress in the programs and the beautiful new Women's facility. I look foward to returning each year for a "tune up" and gaining new hope and inspiration from the people I think of as "The Miracle Workers."
