History
Pine Grove, an extension of Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, opened its doors in Spring of 1984. Originally, Pine Grove only treated adults in an inpatient setting but today treats child and adolescents, as well and offers a wide variety of programming for patients. Pine Grove is now Mississippi's largest treatment facility for psychiatric and addictive diseases. Programs range from inpatient to intensive outpatient to residential and outpatient.
Since its establishment, Pine Grove has treated patients from all of Mississippi's 82 counties, 48 states and several foreign countries.
Pine Grove also operates outreach offices throughout South Mississippi in Laurel, Jackson, Gulfport, McComb, Meridian, Picayune, Columbia, Lucedale, Magee, Wiggins, Gautier and operates a Gero-Psychiatric Program in Tylertown.
