Sexual Addiction Treatment Programs
Gender Focused Sexual Addiction Treatment
At Pine Grove, our approach to sexual addiction treatment is gender focused with men receiving treatment for sexual addiction, sexual anorexia, and relationship compulsivity at Pine Grove’s Gratitude program and women receiving treatment for these specific issues at Pine Grove’s Women’s Center.
Sexual Addiction Treatment for Men
The Gratitude program, which provides gender focused sexual addiction treatment for men, is based on the ground breaking work of Dr. Patrick Carnes who originally developed the curriculum at Pine Grove. The treatment program utilizes Dr. Carnes’s 30-task model and the principles of the 12 steps as its foundation, as well as integrating other well-established approaches to the treatment of addiction and the promotion of mental well-being. As applicable, patients may receive trauma therapy in addition to the traditional group therapy process. The Gratitude program is designed to provide patients with the most progressive, effective, and innovative treatment available.
Gratitude provides a safe and secure environment where patients work together under the supervision of professional, caring, compassionate, and well-trained staff members. Patients within Pine Grove’s Gratitude program participate in:

The length of the sexual addiction treatment program at the Women’s Center is customized according to the unique needs of each patient, and the specific recommendations of the Pine Grove treatment team. Women’s Center patients, within Pine Grove’s sexual addiction treatment program will also spend over 10 hours a week for six weeks in psycho-educational activities, such as lectures, in a mixed gender setting at Pine Grove’s Gratitude program, which treats men, with sexual addiction issues. This approach allows a patient to do the majority of their psychological work in a gender focused setting at the Women’s Center, while also allowing them to work through their problematic relational issues in a structured and very well supervised mixed gender setting. This portion of the treatment program at Gratitude incorporates Dr. Patrick Carnes’s 30-task model.
