Tony Calabrese

Anthony Calabrese, Ph.D.

Dr. Anthony Calabrese is a licensed psychologist in Mississippi, New York, and Alabama. He is the Director of Psychology and Outpatient Services for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. Dr. Calabrese completed his doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at The University of Southern Mississippi in 1996. His clinical training included a doctoral psychology internship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and is a member of both the American Psychological Association and the Mississippi Psychological Association.

Christina Williams, Ph.D.

Christina Williams, Ph.D.

Dr. Christina Williams is a licensed psychologist and Clinical Director of Pine Grove Outpatient Services. Dr. Williams earned her undergraduate degree and her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from The University of Mississippi. She successfully completed her pre-doctoral psychology internship at Pine Grove in 2009-2010. Following internship, Dr. Williams completed her postdoctoral training at the Professional Enhancement Program of Pine Grove. Dr. Williams has done professional presentations related to children and is co-author of a book chapter examining cultural issues involved in the assessment and treatment of children. She has also worked in inpatient, residential and outpatient settings with adults who have addictive disorders, disruptive behaviors, relational problems and personality issues. Prior to becoming Director of Training for Pine Grove’s Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology (PG-DIPP), Dr. Williams was Co-Director of Training and primary supervisor for interns working with children and adolescents on the Outpatient Services Rotation.

Roopsi Bassi, MD

Dr. Bassi graduated from the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chandigarh, India and completed her residency at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Dr. Bassi is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and Mississippi Psychiatric Association. She primarily sees adult patients at Pine Grove Outpatient Services and provides psychiatric consultations at Forrest General Hospital. Dr. Bassi joined the Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services team in 2015.

Patricia Calabrese, PMHNP-BC

Patricia Calabrese is a graduate of Adelphi University School of Nursing in Garden City, New York. Ms. Calabrese received her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Maryland and completed her post graduate studies at The University of Southern Mississippi. She is a licensed Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Mississippi. She is also accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since 1986 and as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 2004. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Prior to coming to Pine Grove, Ms. Calabrese coordinated both neonatal ICU and Child Psychiatric Units, in addition to work in Psychiatric consultation. Ms. Calabrese joined the Pine Grove Staff in 1992 as Director of Adult and Child & Adolescent Services, coordinating patient treatment delivery, staff management, new program development, marketing, and physician relations. She coordinated Pine Grove’s staff education from 1997-2003. Ms. Calabrese currently treats child and adolescent patients at Pine Grove Outpatient Services doing assessments, medication management and therapy. She is often published in the areas of ADHD, bullying and parenting education.

Heather Conn, PMHNP-BC

Heather Conn is a Licensed Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Pine Grove Outpatient Services. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS and her Master’s degree in nursing from The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Conn also completed post Master of Nursing Certificates at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS and The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Conn joined Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services in 2017 as a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner where she sees adults, children, and adolescents on our inpatient units.

ted crawford

Ted Crawford, LMFT

Ted Crawford LMFT, provides psychotherapy for clients through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) of Forrest General Hospital and at the Gratitude and Pine Grove Outpatient Services (PGOS) programs of Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services, He earned his undergraduate degree in Education in 1987 and his master’s degree in marriage and family therapy in1995 from The University of Southern Mississippi. Ted has also completed training in the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address trauma issues. His background includes work as an educator prior to coming to Pine Grove. In addition to working at EAP, Gratitude and PGOS currently, Pine Grove has also benefitted from Ted’s work at the Child & Adolescent Day Treatment and Professional Enhancement Programs and on the inpatient adult psychiatric unit. He enjoys writing and has written numerous informative (and entertaining) articles on clinical topics in a format that is easily understood by both professionals and patients. Ted has been employed with Pine Grove since 1998 and working with the EAP since 2001.

Courtney Cruthirds, PMHNP-BC

Courtney Cruthirds is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS and her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating with honors from both programs. Cruthirds is a member of The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and The National Alliance on Mental Illness. She joined Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services in 2021 and currently provides treatment to patients on the Adult Psychiatric and Child & Adolescent Psychiatric inpatient units.

Jennifer DeFreese, BS

Jennifer DeFreese is the Physician Relations Coordinator for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. Her responsibilities include coordinating activities for Department of Psychiatry and Addictionology, credentialing, physician recruitment, physician orientation, and providing support services for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Service’s Residency Program. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration from University of Alabama in August 2015. Jennifer has been employed with Pine Grove since 1997.

Sergio Gutierrez, LCSW, BCBA

Sergio Gutierrez earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from Southern University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has over 24 years of professional experience in a variety of clinical settings. He is a clinical therapist with Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with specialty training in autism. He is a field supervisor and has served as an Adjunct Professor for The University of Southern Mississippi School of Social Work.

Jacob Kay, PMHNP-BC

Jacob Kay is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, (PMHNP-BC) board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS with highest honors and his Master of Science in Nursing from Northern Kentucky University with honors. Kay is also a member of The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. He joined Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services in 2022 and provides treatment to adult patients at Pine Grove’s Outpatient Services’ Department for a variety of mental health conditions.

Olivia Miller, LPC, NCC

Olivia Miller is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services’ Outpatient department. She also works with Forrest Health’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Miller earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. She completed her Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, in Hattiesburg, MS. Miller has been a part of the Pine Grove team since 2020 and prior to joining the Outpatient Services department, she worked with Pine Grove’s specialty treatment programs including Next Step, Gratitude, and the Women’s Center.  Miller is trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR,) in addition to being trained in trauma treatment. At Pine Grove Outpatient Services, Miller treats adult patients with a variety of health care needs including anxiety and depression, trauma, eating and substance use disorders.

Stephanie Myers, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C

Stephanie Myers is a Licensed Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Pine Grove Outpatient Services. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS and her Master’s degree in nursing from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. Myers also earned her  post Master of Nursing Certificates and Doctoral of Nursing at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. Myers joined Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services in 2022 as a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner where she sees adult and children with our outpatient clinic, Pine Grove Outpatient Service.

Craig Paterson - Psychologist

Craig Paterson, Ph.D

Craig Paterson, Ph.D. received his doctorate in clinical psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi and completed his doctoral psychology internship at New Orleans Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Paterson is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Mississippi Psychological Association, he joined the Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services staff in 1992.

Chaz Richardson, DO

Dr. Charles “Chaz” Richardson is a graduate of Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Blacksburg, VA and completed his psychiatry residency at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Dr. Richardson completed his fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at Emory University in Atlanta, GA and is a member of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, and Mississippi State Medical Association. Dr. Richardson joined the Pine Grove staff in 2018 and currently evaluates and treats adult patients for Pine Grove’s inpatient and residential treatment programs.

Shannon Runnels, MS, P-LPC

Shannon Runnels is a Clinical Therapist with Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from The University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY and Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS. Ms. Runnels completed her internship at Pine Grove before joining as a Clinical Therapist for Pine Grove’s Next Step program. Runnels also has experience providing crisis response services to clients and their families.

William Turner, PMHNP-BC

William Turner is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) board-certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). He earned both his Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Southern Mississippi, graduating with honors, and receiving the National Collegiate Nursing Award. William is an associate member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), and provides treatment to patients within Pine Grove’s addiction treatment programs, including the Women’s Center, Next Step, Legacy, and Gratitude programs.
