Edward Anderson, Ph.D.
Dr. Ed Anderson has coordinated comprehensive evaluations on professionals since 2003. His specialty areas include evaluation of personality disorders, substance abuse, and disruptive behavior in the workplace. He has performed hundreds of forensic-level evaluations for professional licensing boards and monitoring bodies. He worked for 8 years in Pine Grove’s Professional Enhancement Program, evaluating and treating professionals, and is now Clinical Director of Pine Grove’s Evaluation Center, which serves a wide range of clientele, including healthcare professionals. Dr. Anderson graduated with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1998 from Brigham Young University in Utah.x
Leah Claire Bennett, Ph.D.
Dr. Leah Claire Bennett is a licensed psychologist with Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services, where she serves as the organization’s Clinical Operations Director. In this role, she provides clinical direction and supervision for Pine Grove’s addiction treatment programs including the Women’s Center, Legacy, Gratitude, and Next Step. Dr. Bennett also oversees Pine Grove’s professional treatment programs, including the Professional Enhancement Program, known as PEP, and Pine Grove’s Professionals Recovery Track, which is designed for the organization’s addiction treatment patients who hold a professional license. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Baylor University in Waco, TX and her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Counseling Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. Dr. Bennett has worked with the Professional Enhancement Program since 2005 where the focus is working with professionals with vocational and relational issues, maladaptive personality problems, addiction, disruptive workplace behavior and sexual issues. Dr. Bennett’s primary focus is to help patients who have struggled in a variety of ways live their lives in a manner where they are able to engage at their highest potential.x
Anthony Calabrese, Ph.D.
Dr. Anthony Calabrese is a licensed psychologist in Mississippi, New York, and Alabama. He is the Director of Psychology and Outpatient Services for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. He also serves as Interim Director of Pine Grove's Next Step program and as the Chief Psychologist for the doctoral internship in professional psychology program. Dr. Calabrese completed his doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at The University of Southern Mississippi in 1996. His clinical training included a doctoral psychology internship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and is a member of both the American Psychological Association and the Mississippi Psychological Association.x
Gregory Futral, Ph.D., CSAT-S, NCC
Dr. Greg Futral is a licensed psychologist and the Clinical Director of the Gratitude Program at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. He earned his master’s and doctorate degrees in Counseling Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi. He began working for Pine Grove in 2000 on the Adult Psychiatric Inpatient Unit as a clinical therapist, and he served as a therapist on the Alcohol and Drug Inpatient Unit as well. Dr. Futral completed his pre-doctoral internship at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi, MS, providing assessment and clinical services to veterans with various difficulties, such as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, depression, chronic pain, and traumatic brain injury. His dissertation research was in the area of motivational enhancement interventions and anger. His background includes work with individuals in acute crisis, with a range of severity of psychological problems, with chemical addictions in a residential setting, as well as training and experience with cognitive-behavioral treatment for problematic anger. Dr. Futral has been working with the Gratitude Program since 2009. He is Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and Supervisor (CSAT-S) and a National Certified Counselor.x
Diana Mesrobian, LCSW
Diana Mesrobian received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. She pursued her LCSW while practicing as a Clinical Therapist at Edgewood Children’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri, an intensive residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed youth. She continued her career in social work for several years as a Clinical Therapist for an adventure-based wilderness camp for juvenile offenders in Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Mesrobian started working with Pine Grove Outpatient Services in 2005, where she helped develop “Choices,” an outpatient substance abuse treatment program for adolescents. She is a member of the Treatment Team for the Forrest County Juvenile Drug Court, and provides both individual and group therapy for participating clients. She is also a clinical therapist with the Pine Grove Outpatient Services serving adolescents and families outside of the Choices program who are dealing with substance abuse as well as depression and anxiety related disorders. Ms. Mesrobian is a field instructor with The University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Social Work and is a member of the University’s Social Work Advisory Board.x
Craig Paterson, Ph.D.
Craig Paterson, Ph.D. received his doctorate in clinical psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi and completed his doctoral psychology internship at New Orleans Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Paterson is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Mississippi Psychological Association, he joined the Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services staff in 1992.x
Cathy S. Reto, Ph.D.
Dr. Cathy Reto is the Director of the Women’s Center at Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services in Hattiesburg, MS. Dr. Reto received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and obtained her A.A. in Nursing at Youngstown State University. She is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) and is on their senior advisory board. Dr. Reto has specialized training in EMDR and has been trained in somatic psychology at The Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute. Her areas of expertise include psychology of normal eating, eating and weight disorders, body image distortion, compulsive overeating, childhood trauma, and chemical dependency. Additionally, Dr. Reto has expertise in bariatric psychology and bariatric post-operative weight management. Dr. Reto provides interns with training on eating disorders during the seminar series and is available to serve as an adjunct supervisor when needed.x
Amy Robertson, Psy.D.
Amy Robertson, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist with the Professionals Recovery Track. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Auburn University in Auburn, AL and her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. Dr. Robertson has clinical experience in a variety of settings including a university psychological services center, adult prison, the juvenile justice system, a community mental health center and in residential treatment. Dr. Robertson completed her internship and post doctoral fellowship at Pine Grove, working in several programs including Outpatient Services, the Evaluation Center, the Sex Addiction Treatment Center and PEP completing assessments and providing individual, family, couples and group therapy. She currently works with professionals on maladaptive personality traits, disruptive behaviors, addiction, vocational issues, self-management, boundary setting and interpersonal and relationship functioning.x
Christina Williams, Ph.D.
Director of Training, Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology
Dr. Christina Williams is a licensed psychologist providing outpatient services for children and adolescents at the Pine Grove Outpatient Services of Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. She earned her undergraduate degree and her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from The University of Mississippi. She successfully completed her pre-doctoral psychology internship at Pine Grove in 2009-2010. Following internship, Dr. Williams completed her postdoctoral training at the Professional Enhancement Program of Pine Grove. Dr. Williams has done professional presentations related to children and is co-author of a book chapter examining cultural issues involved in the assessment and treatment of children. She has also worked in inpatient, residential and outpatient settings with adults who have addictive disorders, disruptive behaviors, relational problems and personality issues.x
David Yowell, Ph.D.
David Yowell, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist with the Professional Enhancement Program (PEP) at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. He completed his Masters and Doctorate degrees in the Counseling Psychology program at The University of Southern Mississippi where his research focused on adult attachment patterns and emotion. He has provided individual and group psychotherapy and couples therapy in psychiatric units within the Mississippi State Hospital and nursing home, local Hattiesburg medical facilities, and counseling centers at The University of Southern Mississippi and University of South Florida. He has also provided psychological, intelligence and neurocognitive assessment with psychiatric inpatients and adult outpatients in Mississippi and Florida. He currently works with professionals at Professional Enhancement Program on destructive personality pathology, sexual compulsivity and sexual issues, affect regulation, workplace boundary violations, vocational issues, and addictions. Dr. Yowell provides individual, group, family and couples therapy to PEP clients and is trained in EMDR therapy for trauma.x
Stephen Alfonso, MT-BC
Stephen Alfonso MT-BC, is a board certified Music Therapist. Alfonso earned his degree from Loyola University in New Orleans and he has worked with clients who have experienced sexual trauma, sexual compulsivity, eating disorders, and other addictions since 1995. Alfonso is experienced with using non-verbal, expressive modalities. He has conducted psychodrama groups with sexual trauma clients, those with sexual compulsion, and clients with eating disorders since 1997. During the last five years, Alfonso has also worked with male eating disorder clients. Alfonso is classically trained in voice and he is a professional drummer and band leader with a popular band in the New Orleans area. He has also presented several lectures on the use of Expressive Therapy with survivors of trauma, eating disorders and sexual compulsion. Additionally, Alfonso uses his musical talents during drumming workshops to promote community and healing.x
Issac L. Boose, MEd, LPC-S, LMFT, ICAADC
Issac L. Boose is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He presently works as the director of Pine Grove Next Step and has been a part of the Next Step team since December 2004. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Maryland European Division and a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from The University of Mississippi. He is an active member of the Mississippi Association of Addiction Professional. His experience in the counseling profession includes working with school-aged children as a school based counselor, counseling senior citizens in a hospital setting, community mental health counseling and residential alcohol and drug counseling. While working within these settings he has provided couples, family, group and individual therapy.x
Trish Brix-Baskin, LCSW
Trish Brix-Baskin received her Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry from Columbia International University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. She pursued her LCSW while practicing as a clinician at Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources, a community mental health agency, located in Ellisville and Collins, MS. At Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources, she provided group, family and individual therapy, assessments and emergency services for elderly and adult clients with limited financial resources. Her clinical experiences include clients with various disorders including mood, personality, substance use, trauma and neuro-developmental disorders.x
Patricia Calabrese, PMHNP-BC
Patricia Calabrese is a graduate of Adelphi University School of Nursing in Garden City, New York. Ms. Calabrese received her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Maryland and completed her post graduate studies at The University of Southern Mississippi. She is a licensed Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Mississippi. She is also accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since 1986 and as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 2004. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Prior to coming to Pine Grove, Ms. Calabrese coordinated both neonatal ICU and Child Psychiatric Units, in addition to work in Psychiatric consultation. Ms. Calabrese joined the Pine Grove Staff in 1992 as Director of Adult and Child & Adolescent Services, coordinating patient treatment delivery, staff management, new program development, marketing, and physician relations. She coordinated Pine Grove's staff education from 1997-2003. Ms. Calabrese currently treats child and adolescent patients at Pine Grove Outpatient Services doing assessments, medication management and therapy. She is often published in the areas of ADHD, bullying and parenting education.x
Ralph Carson, R.D. B.S., B.H.S., Ph.D
Ralph Carson, R.D. B.S., B.H.S., Ph.D., is a nationally recognized clinical nutritionist and exercise physiologist. Dr. Carson is a frequently requested speaker on a variety of nutritional topics for medical groups, pharmaceutical companies, universities, athletic training camps and corporations. He has a successful clinical practice as well as being a faculty member of The University of Alabama at Huntsville for over 20 years. Dr. Carson is also a nutritional advisor to numerous university athletic departments including The University of Tennessee National Basketball Champion Lady Volunteers. Dr. Carson received his B.S. from Duke University, his B.H.S. in pathology from Duke University Medical School, and his Ph.D. in nutrition from Auburn University.x
Ted Crawford, LMFT
Ted Crawford LMFT, provides psychotherapy for clients through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) of Forrest General Hospital and at the Gratitude and Pine Grove Outpatient Services (PGOS) programs of Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services, He earned his undergraduate degree in Education in 1987 and his master’s degree in marriage and family therapy in1995 from The University of Southern Mississippi. Ted has also completed training in the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address trauma issues. His background includes work as an educator prior to coming to Pine Grove. In addition to working at EAP, Gratitude and PGOS currently, Pine Grove has also benefitted from Ted’s work at the Child & Adolescent Day Treatment and Professional Enhancement Programs and on the inpatient adult psychiatric unit. He enjoys writing and has written numerous informative (and entertaining) articles on clinical topics in a format that is easily understood by both professionals and patients. Ted has been employed with Pine Grove since 1998 and working with the EAP since 2001.x
Jennifer DeFreese, BS
Jennifer DeFreese is the Physician Relations Coordinator for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. Her responsibilities include coordinating activities for Department of Psychiatry and Addictionology, credentialing, physician recruitment, physician orientation, and providing support services for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Service’s Residency Program. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration from University of Alabama in August 2015. Jennifer has been employed with Pine Grove since 1997.x
Stewart Eaton, LPC, CSAT
Stewart Eaton is a clinical therapist with the Gratitude Program at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. Stewart earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The University of Mississippi and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Mississippi with over 14 years of experience as a therapist. Stewart is skilled in treating a variety of concerns including mood regulation difficulties, sexual addiction, chemical addiction, and healthy boundaries and communication skills for families.x
Sergio Gutierrez, LCSW, BCBA
Sergio Gutierrez earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from Southern University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has over 24 years of professional experience in a variety of clinical settings. He is a clinical therapist with Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with specialty training in autism. He is a field supervisor and has served as an Adjunct Professor for The University of Southern Mississippi School of Social Work.x
Brooke Helton works as a Registered Dietitian and has been a part of Pine Grove's team since 2007. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Mississippi State University where she also completed her dietetic internship. Brooke works primarily with the dual diagnosis patients in meeting their nutrition goals and challenging their eating disorders.x
Ashley Holford, LCSW
Ashley Holford, LCSW, provides psychotherapy services for clients through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) of Forrest General Hospital and the Pine Grove Outpatient Services Program. Ashley earned her undergraduate degree in Public Administration from The University of Mississippi in 1994 and her master’s degree in social work from The University of Southern Mississippi in 1997. Her background includes work as a clinical therapist at Pine Grove’s adult, adolescent and children’s inpatient units conducting group, family and individual therapy. Ashley also has experience with geriatric psychiatric treatment as well as hospice social work. Ashley has been employed with Pine Grove since 1997 and has been working with the EAP program and as an outpatient clinical therapist since 2001.x
Janie Kamp, LCSW
Janie Kamp is the Coordinator of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) of Forrest General Hospital (FGH). In addition to providing psychological services to FGH employees and their family members, EAP also contracts to provide psychological services for employees of area companies. Janie earned her undergraduate degree in child development from Mississippi State University in 1981 and her master’s degree in social work from The University of Southern Mississippi in 1994. Her background includes work in medical social work, home health and geriatric psychiatry. Janie has been employed with Pine Grove since 1998 and working with EAP since 1999.x
Peter Kamp, MD
Dr. Peter Kamp is a 1986 graduate of University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed the residency program at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. in 1990 and a Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship in 1991. Dr. Kamp is board certified is a member of the American Medical Association. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He joined the Pine Grove staff in 1991 and serves as a Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist at Forrest General Hospital. He currently sees patients in Pine Grove’s outpatient clinic and in the Professional Enhancement Program for assessment and medication management.x
Deepak Khemka, MD
Dr. Deepak Khemka is board certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine. He joined the Pine Grove medical staff in 2012. He completed his psychiatry residency in 2011, followed by one year full time fellowship in Sleep Medicine, at The University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Khemka also teaches third and fourth year medical students from William Carey University. Dr. Khemka currently works as a staff psychiatrist on the adult psychiatric unit at Pine Grove and see patients on an outpatient basis for sleep medicine evaluations and follow up. He is a member of American Psychiatric Association and American Academy of Sleep Medicine.x
Manpreet Khemka, MD
Dr. Manpreet Khemka graduated from the Government Medical College in Aurangabad, India in 2004 and completed her residency at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Dr. Khemka joined Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services as a staff psychiatrist in 2014 and is a member of the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, and Mississippi Psychiatric Association. Dr. Khemka primarily sees patients on the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit located on Pine Grove’s main campus in Hattiesburg, MS.x
Mimi Leeds, MS, ADTR
Mimi Leeds holds a Bachelor of Arts in both psychology and dance from Sarah Lawrence College and a Master's Degree from Hunter College. Currently, living in Houston, Texas, she works as a certified Life and Wellness coach in private practice. She also has an established Skype therapy practice focusing on addiction, trauma resolution, lifestyle coaching and as a facilitator of her individualized healthy weight, and balanced life program. Her past experience includes working as a department head and therapist for River Oaks Psychiatric hospital in New Orleans for seventeen years. She has also been a group leader for onsite workshops in Nashville TN, and as a group therapist for Arizona Family Therapy Intensives. She has been a national speaker and created workshops focusing on the use of creative arts therapy in the treatment for adult survivors of trauma as well as self-care, compassion and nurturance as a means to healing and growth.x
Britney Mangum, LMFTA
Britney Mangum is a clinical therapist at Gratitude, Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. She earned her master’s degree in Child and Family Studies as well as a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, both from The University of Southern Mississippi. Britney previously completed her internship at the Gratitude program. Her background includes work with individuals who have experienced sexual and physical abuse, as well as well as individuals in crisis, with a range of severity of psychological problems.x
James Montgomery, MD
James C. "Jes" Montgomery, MD is the Primary Psychiatric Consultant for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services' sexual addiction treatment program, named Gratitude. Dr. Montgomery began working in the chemical dependency field in 1985 as a Family Physician, earning his Addiction Medicine certification in 1987 and becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine in 2009. After returning to Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans in 1992, Dr. Montgomery completed a Psychiatry residency in 1995 and attained board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1999.
Since 1997, he has worked in residential treatment, and helped professionals with licensure issues related to addiction and boundary violations. After eight years as the Medical Director for Santé Center for Healing, he became the Psychiatric Director for Pine Grove's world-renowned Gratitude program and held that position until 2014. He is now a consultant to the Gratitude program. Dr. Montgomery was certified as a Sex Addiction Therapist and Supervisor by IITAP in 2011, having first trained in sexual addiction treatment in 1988.
His addiction work focuses on the family and the long-term aspects of recovery. Dr. Montgomery has worked with multiple addictions throughout his career including sex, gambling, and eating disorders. Dr. Montgomery has presented in the areas of pharmacology in addictions, boundaries and ethics, sexuality, sexual trauma and sexual addiction, sexuality and spirituality, grief and LGBT issues.x
Sally Moody, LCSW
Sally Moody is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Therapist with the Professional Enhancement Program (PEP) at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services, where she serves as Clinical Director. Moody is also a Clinical Therapist for Pine Grove's Professionals Recovery Track. She earned her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS and her Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Denver in Denver, CO. Moody has experience with chemical dependency case management with Arapahoe House, Inc. and in evaluating and monitoring medical professionals with the Colorado Physician Health Program, both in Denver, Colorado. She previously worked with Pine Grove's Legacy program developing, implementing, and treating addiction in adults..x
Teresa Mulvihill, MD
Dr. Mulvihill is a graduate of the University Of Mississippi School Of Medicine where she also completed her psychiatry residency. Dr. Mulvihill is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and a member of the American Psychiatric Association as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Dr. Mulvihill joined the Pine Grove staff in 2008. She currently sees patients in an outpatient setting for assessment, medication management, and psychotherapy through the Pine Grove Outreach Center of Madison and works in a variety of programs in Hattiesburg including the Addiction IOP program and the Evaluation Center for Professionals.x
Russell C. Rainey, MS, LPC
Russell Rainey is the Administrative Director of Addiction Services at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services, where he works with Pine Grove’s chemical addiction treatment programs including Next Step for men, the Women’s Center, which also treats co-occurring eating disorders, and the Legacy program for men and women ages forty plus. Rainey completed his Bachelor's degree in Religion, Biblical Studies and Language before earning his Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Rainey holds a license in Professional Counseling and has nearly 15 years of experience in the addiction treatment field. Prior to his current role, Russell served in various capacities at Pine Grove including Director of the Legacy program as well as Clinical Director of Pine Grove’s Next Step treatment program for men. Rainey is nationally recognized for his lectures on spirituality and addiction treatment.x
Deborah Schiller, LPC, CSAT-S, CMAT-S-S
Deborah Schiller is a Clinical Consultant at Pine Grove's Gratitude program where she previously served as Program Director. She is a native of Huntsville, AL, where she completed three years of study at The University of Alabama in Huntsville before finishing her degree at Montevallo University in Montevallo, AL. Ms. Schiller taught School in Selma, AL for three years before getting her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Stanford, University in Stanford, CA. She began her family in New York City and taught in schools in Boston, MA, Huntsville, AL, and Redlands, CA. While raising three children, she returned to school, receiving her second Masters degree from The University of South Alabama, Baldwin County, AL, this time in Counseling. Ms. Schiller completed an Internship at The Meadows Treatment Center in Wickenburg, AZ and became a Therapist there. In 2004, Ms. Schiller joined Pine Grove and the Professional Enhancement Program as a Clinical Therapist.x
David Sellers, M.Div.
David Sellers served as associate pastor at Parkway Heights from 2005 to 2011. He is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, a member of the Order of St. Luke and part of SDI (Spiritual Directors International). He has over 20 years of experience in ministry as a youth director, retreat leader, hospital chaplain and church pastor. He received his M.Div. from Emory University with emphasis in Spiritual Formation. David facilitates group and one-on-one spiritual direction across all programs at Pine Grove.x
Allison Sutton, MBA
Allison Sutton is the Program Coordinator for the Pine Grove Evaluation Center and National Call Center. As program coordinator she supervises the daily operations, scheduling of patient evaluations, and assigning caseloads. Sutton has been employed with Pine Grove since 2004 and was previously the National Business Development Coordinator. Prior to her job in Business Development, she was employed as a Data Specialist with the Professional Enhancement Program. She has over 15 years of clinical experience working with trauma, eating disorders, sexual addiction and compulsivity, chemical dependency, and dual diagnosis issues.
Allison received her Masters in Business Administration from The University of Phoenix and her Masters in Public Health Services Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the National Association of Professional Women, and volunteers with the Parkinson’s Research. She was named Professional Woman of the Year in Healthcare in 2009-2010 from the National Association of Professional Women.x
Diane Walker, MD
Dr. Walker has been with Pine Grove since 1991. She is a 1986 graduate of The University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She completed a psychiatry residency at The University of Kentucky Medical Center in 1991. Dr. Walker is board certified in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry, a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as well as the American Psychiatric Association. She is also certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine.x
Roland Johnson has worked for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services since 1993. He currently serves as the Outreach Coordinator for Pine Grove’s REACH Program, which stands for Realistic Experiences and Challenging Horizons. REACH is an experiential therapy ropes course for Pine Grove’s residential patients. Each participant accomplishes key goals by pushing themselves past their personal comfort levels. This experience enhances the patients’ self confidence, communication skills, and self esteem while increasing their teamwork and trust building skills. After graduating from The University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Coaching and Sports Administration, Johnson completed his certification as a ropes course facilitator and trainer. In 2012, Johnson received the "We C.A.R.E. Award" presented by Forrest General Hospital. This award recognizes staff members who make a positive impact on the patient’s experience.x
Amanda Kirtland, LPC
Amanda Kirtland is a clinical therapist with Gratitude of Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi and her Masters in Community Counseling from The University of South Alabama. Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has clinical experience working in a variety of settings including residential, outpatient, and partial hospitalization. She has worked with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues, adults with severe mental illness, the local Drug Court program, and adults with vocational and relational issues, maladaptive personality problems, disruptive workplace behavior, addiction, and sexual issues.x
Lacey Herrington, Ph.D.
Dr. Lacey Herrington is a licensed psychologist with the Evaluation Center at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. She is also works with the Professionals Recovery Track, which provides daily group therapy addressing issues of professionalism for professionals receiving treatment in Pine Grove’s residential programs. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Mississippi State University in 2008, as well as her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2015. Dr. Herrington completed her pre-doctoral internship at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, LA from 2014-2015. She was licensed in 2017. Her primary interests include: assessment, personality disorders, substance use disorders, forensic psychology, and trauma.x
Jeremy C. R. Jones, BS
Jeremy Jones is the Data Specialist for Pine Grove Outpatient Services at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. His responsibilities include providing support services for Pine Grove’s Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology (PG-DIPP). He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Business Administration from University of Southern Mississippi. Jeremy has been employed with Forrest General Hospital since 2014.x
Mallory Malkin, Ph.D
Dr. Mallory Malkin is a licensed Psychologist providing assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services in Hattiesburg, MS. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. Dr. Malkin earned her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi. She successfully completed her pre-doctoral internship at The University of Mississippi Medical Center/G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center. Following her internship, Dr. Malkin completed her postdoctoral training at Mississippi State University and joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Mississippi University for Women. Dr. Malkin has presented over sixteen presentations, published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals, and co-authored a book chapter on anti-social behavior in children and adolescents. The majority of Dr. Malkin’s research focuses on child maltreatment, narcissism, psychopathology, and internalizing symptomatology. Dr. Malkin is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) among other evidenced based treatment approaches. Dr. Malkin’s areas of expertise include child maltreatment, child and adolescent anxiety and mood disorders, behavioral and emotional disturbances, as well as ADHD. She is the primary supervisor for externs working with children and adolescents on Pine Grove’s inpatient unit.x
Family Nurse Practitioner Supervisor
Joanna Hardy is a Nurse Practitioner with Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services and has been with the organization since 2004. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS. Ms. Hardy has been licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 1997. She currently serves as a Family Nurse Practitioner Supervisor for Pine Grove and also presents on behalf of the organization at industry events.x
Bill Thornton, PMHNP
Bill Thornton is a Nurse Practitioner for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. Thornton earned his associate degree in nursing from Jones County Jr. College and his master's degree from The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Thornton is a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMH-NP) through the the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).x
