Edward Anderson, Ph.D.
Clinical Director, Evaluation Center
Pine Grove Outpatient Services

Dr. Ed Anderson has coordinated comprehensive evaluations on professionals since 2003. His specialty areas include evaluation of personality disorders, substance abuse, and disruptive behavior in the workplace. He has performed hundreds of forensic-level evaluations for professional licensing boards and monitoring bodies. He worked for 8 years in Pine Grove’s Professional Enhancement Program, evaluating and treating professionals, and is now Clinical Director of Pine Grove’s Evaluation Center, which serves a wide range of clientele, including healthcare professionals. Dr. Anderson graduated with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1998 from Brigham Young University in Utah. He is a primary supervisor for pre-doctoral psychology interns working on assessments in the Evaluation Center while on the Outpatient Services Rotation.

Leah Claire Bennett, Ph.D.
Program Director, Professional Enhancement Program

Dr. Leah Claire Bennett is a licensed psychologist with the Professional Enhancement Program at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services, where she serves as the Program Director. Dr. Bennett is also the Director of Pine Grove’s Professionals Recovery Track, which is designed for the organization’s residential addiction treatment patients who hold a professional license. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Baylor University in Waco, TX and her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Counseling Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. Dr. Bennett has worked with the Professional Enhancement Program since 2005 where the focus is working with professionals with vocational and relational issues, maladaptive personality problems, addiction, disruptive workplace behavior and sexual issues. Dr. Bennett’s primary focus is to help professionals who have struggled in a variety of ways return to work in a manner where they are able to engage at their highest potential. She practices an integrative therapy combining elements of interpersonal, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. She is an adjunct supervisor for interns when they are on the Professional Enhancement Program Rotation.

Anthony Calabrese, Ph.D.
Director, Pine Grove Outpatient Services
Chief Psychologist, Doctoral Internship In Professional Psychology

Dr. Tony Calabrese is a licensed psychologist in Mississippi, New York, and Alabama. He is the Director of Psychology and Pine Grove Outpatient Services of Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. He also serves as the Chief Psychologist (administrator in charge) for the pre-doctoral psychology internship training program. Dr. Calabrese was instrumental in establishing the internship training program and he is committed to maintaining a quality training program. Dr. Calabrese completed his doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1996. His clinical training included a doctoral psychology internship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and is a member of both the American Psychological Association and the Mississippi Psychological Association. Dr. Calabrese serves as an adjunct supervisor for all the training rotations, providing supervision when primary supervisors are unavailable due to vacations or other leave time. He is responsible for coordinating the monthly Intern Seminar.

Gregory Futral, Ph.D., CSAT-S, NCC
Clinical Director, Gratitude Program

Dr. Greg Futral is a licensed psychologist and the Clinical Director of the Gratitude Program at Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services. He earned his master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1999, as well as his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2010. He began working for Pine Grove in 2000 on the Adult Psychiatric Inpatient Unit as a clinical therapist, and he served as a therapist on the Alcohol and Drug Inpatient Unit as well. Dr. Futral completed his pre-doctoral internship at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi, MS, providing assessment and clinical services to veterans with various difficulties, such as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, depression, chronic pain, and traumatic brain injury. His dissertation research was in the area of motivational enhancement interventions and anger. His background includes work with individuals in acute crisis, with a range of severity of psychological problems, with chemical addictions in a residential setting, as well as training and experience with cognitive-behavioral treatment for problematic anger. Dr. Futral has been working with the Gratitude Program since 2009. He is Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and Supervisor (CSAT-S) and a National Certified Counselor. Dr. Futral serves as the primary supervisor for interns working on the Gratitude Program Rotation. He is also lead coordinator of the Assessment Seminar series for the internship.

Diana Mesrobian, LCSW
Pine Grove Outpatient Services, Child & Adolescent Coordinator
Adolescent Alcohol and Drug Outpatient Program (Choices)

Diana Mesrobian received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. She pursued her LCSW while practicing as a Clinical Therapist at Edgewood Children’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri, an intensive residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed youth. She continued her career in social work for several years as a Clinical Therapist for an adventure-based wilderness camp for juvenile offenders in Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Mesrobian started working with Pine Grove Outpatient Services in 2005, where she helped develop “Choices,” an outpatient substance abuse treatment program for adolescents. She is a member of the Treatment Team for the Forrest County Juvenile Drug Court, and provides both individual and group therapy for participating clients. She is also a clinical therapist with the Pine Grove Outpatient Services serving adolescents and families outside of the Choices program who are dealing with substance abuse as well as depression and anxiety related disorders. Ms. Mesrobian is a field instructor with the University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Social Work and is a member of the University’s Social Work Advisory Board. She is an adjunct supervisor for interns who work with children and adolescents on the Outpatient Services Rotation.

Craig Paterson, Ph.D.

Evaluation Center & Adult Psychology

Craig Paterson received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and completed his doctoral psychology internship at New Orleans Veteran Affairs Medical Center. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Mississippi Psychological Association. Dr. Paterson joined the Pine Grove staff in 1992. He is currently a member of the Evaluation Center staff, and he has treatment interests in the areas of addiction and depression. He was the catalyst for starting the self-help 12-step Depression Anonymous groups that are now meeting in Hattiesburg. Dr. Paterson has provided individual and group psychotherapy for adult clients throughout his career at Pine Grove. He is a primary supervisor for interns’ assessment work in the Evaluation Center and for adult psychotherapy patients seen by interns on the Outpatient Services Rotation. He leads the weekly Adult Psychology and EAP Staffing meeting. As a former Director of Training, Dr. Paterson is available for consultation on any matters related to the internship.

Theresa Ratti, Ph.D.
Co-Director of Training, Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology
Pine Grove Outpatient Services, Adult Psychology

Dr. Theresa Ratti is a licensed psychologist in Mississippi and New York. She is currently practicing in Mississippi and offers psychotherapy for adults coping with mood, anxiety, adjustment, personality, and substance use disorders. Dr. Ratti has a primary interest in working with adult survivors of childhood abuse and neglect as well as adults who have experienced other types of trauma including combat, accidents, assaults and weather-related events. Dr. Ratti is trained in and uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address trauma issues where appropriate. She received training in sex addiction treatment from the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals. She is also being trained in psychodrama and sociometry and utilizes those skills in her clinical practice. Dr. Ratti completed her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1995. Her clinical training included a doctoral psychology internship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Prior to joining the staff of Pine Grove Outpatient Services, Dr. Ratti worked in the alcohol and drug detoxification and rehabilitation programs and as a psychology internship supervisor at Interfaith Medical Center and provided psychotherapy for children and their families at Neighborhood Counseling Center, all in Brooklyn, N.Y. She is a member of state, national, and specialty professional organizations. Dr. Ratti became Co-Director of Training for Pine Grove’s Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology (PG-DIPP) with Dr. Christina Williams in January 2016. Prior to this, she was Director of Training since June 2011 and earlier she was the Assistant Director. She leads the interns’ weekly Group Supervision and a monthly seminar series for interns. Dr. Ratti also serves as an adjunct supervisor for all the training rotations, providing supervision when primary supervisors are unavailable due to vacations or other leave time.

Cathy S. Reto, Ph.D.
Director, Women’s Center

Dr. Cathy Reto is the Director of the Women’s Center at Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services in Hattiesburg, MS. Dr. Reto received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and obtained her A.A. in Nursing at Youngstown State University. She is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) and is on their senior advisory board. Dr. Reto has specialized training in EMDR and has been trained in somatic psychology at The Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute. Her areas of expertise include psychology of normal eating, eating and weight disorders, body image distortion, compulsive overeating, childhood trauma, and chemical dependency. Additionally, Dr. Reto has expertise in bariatric psychology and bariatric post-operative weight management. Dr. Reto provides interns with training on eating disorders during the seminar series and is available to serve as an adjunct supervisor when needed.

Amy Robertson, Psy.D.
Professional Enhancement Program

Amy Robertson, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist with the Professional Enhancement Program (PEP). She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Auburn University in Auburn, AL and her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. Dr. Robertson has clinical experience in a variety of settings including a university psychological services center, adult prison, the juvenile justice system, a community mental health center and in residential treatment. Dr. Robertson completed her pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Pine Grove, working in several programs including Outpatient Services, Choices Program, Evaluation Center, Gratitude Program and PEP completing assessments and providing individual, family, couples and group therapy. She currently works with professionals at PEP on maladaptive personality traits, disruptive behaviors, addiction, EMDR for trauma, vocational issues, self-management, boundary setting and interpersonal and relationship functioning. She is an adjunct supervisor for interns working on the Professional Enhancement Program Rotation.

Christina Williams, Ph.D.
Director of Training, Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology
Pine Grove Outpatient Services, Child & Adolescent Psychology

Dr. Christina Williams is a licensed psychologist providing outpatient services for children and adolescents at the Pine Grove Outpatient Services of Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. She earned her undergraduate degree and her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from The University of Mississippi. She successfully completed her pre-doctoral psychology internship at Pine Grove in 2009-2010. Following internship, Dr. Williams completed her postdoctoral training at the Professional Enhancement Program of Pine Grove. Dr. Williams has done professional presentations related to children and is co-author of a book chapter examining cultural issues involved in the assessment and treatment of children. She has also worked in inpatient, residential and outpatient settings with adults who have addictive disorders, disruptive behaviors, relational problems and personality issues. Prior to becoming Director of Training for Pine Grove’s Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology (PG-DIPP), Dr. Williams was Co-Director of Training and primary supervisor for interns working with children and adolescents on the Outpatient Services Rotation.

David Yowell, Ph.D.
Professional Enhancement Program

David Yowell, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist with the Professional Enhancement Program (PEP) at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. He completed his Masters and Doctorate degrees in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Southern Mississippi where his research focused on adult attachment patterns and emotion. He has provided individual and group psychotherapy and couples therapy in psychiatric units within the Mississippi State Hospital and nursing home, local Hattiesburg medical facilities, and counseling centers at the University of Southern Mississippi and University of South Florida. He has also provided psychological, intelligence and neurocognitive assessment with psychiatric inpatients and adult outpatients in Mississippi and Florida. He currently works with professionals at Professional Enhancement Program on destructive personality pathology, sexual compulsivity and sexual issues, affect regulation, workplace boundary violations, vocational issues, and addictions. Dr. Yowell provides individual, group, family and couples therapy to PEP clients and is trained in EMDR therapy for trauma. He serves as the primary supervisor for interns on the Professional Enhancement Program Rotation, supervising both their assessments and group work. Dr. Yowell is also the lead coordinator of the monthly Evidence-Based Practice/Treatment Seminar series for the internship.

Stephen Alfonso, MT-BC
Gratitude and Professional Enhancement Programs

Stephen Alfonso MT-BC, is a board certified Music Therapist. Alfonso earned his degree from Loyola University in New Orleans and he has worked with clients who have experienced sexual trauma, sexual compulsivity, eating disorders, and other addictions since 1995. Alfonso is experienced with using non-verbal, expressive modalities. He has conducted psychodrama groups with sexual trauma clients, those with sexual compulsion, and clients with eating disorders since 1997. During the last five years, Alfonso has also worked with male eating disorder clients. Alfonso is classically trained in voice and he is a professional drummer and band leader with a popular band in the New Orleans area. He has also presented several lectures on the use of Expressive Therapy with survivors of trauma, eating disorders and sexual compulsion. Additionally, Alfonso uses his musical talents during drumming workshops to promote community and healing.

Issac L. Boose, MEd, LPC-S, LMFT, ICAADC
Director, Next Step Men’s Program

Issac L. Boose is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He presently works as the director of Pine Grove Next Step and has been a part of the Next Step team since December 2004. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland European Division and a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Mississippi. He is an active member of the Mississippi Association of Addiction Professional. His experience in the counseling profession includes working with school-aged children as a school based counselor, counseling senior citizens in a hospital setting, community mental health counseling and residential alcohol and drug counseling. While working within these settings he has provided couples, family, group and individual therapy.

Trish Brix-Baskin, LCSW

Trish Brix-Baskin received her Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry from Columbia International University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. She pursued her LCSW while practicing as a clinician at Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources, a community mental health agency, located in Ellisville and Collins, MS. At Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources, she provided group, family and individual therapy, assessments and emergency services for elderly and adult clients with limited financial resources. Her clinical experiences include clients with various disorders including mood, personality, substance use, trauma and neuro-developmental disorders. Ms. Brix-Baskin started working with Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services’ Outpatient program, named Choices, in 2015. She is a member of the Treatment Team for the Forrest County Juvenile Drug Court, and provides both individual and group therapy for participating clients. She is also a clinical therapist with Pine Grove’s Outpatient Services serving adolescents and families outside of the Choices program, who are dealing with substance abuse as well as depression and anxiety related disorders.

Patricia Calabrese, PMHNP
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Outpatient and Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Patricia Calabrese is a graduate of Adelphi University School of Nursing in Garden City, New York. Ms. Calabrese received her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Maryland and completed her post graduate studies at The University of Southern Mississippi. She is a licensed Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Mississippi. She is also accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since 1986 and as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 2004. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Prior to coming to Pine Grove, Ms. Calabrese coordinated both neonatal ICU and Child Psychiatric Units, in addition to work in Psychiatric consultation. Ms. Calabrese joined the Pine Grove Staff in 1992 as Director of Adult and Child & Adolescent Services, coordinating patient treatment delivery, staff management, new program development, marketing, and physician relations. She coordinated Pine Grove's staff education from 1997-2003. Ms. Calabrese currently treats child and adolescent patients at Pine Grove Outpatient Services doing assessments, medication management and therapy. She is often published in the areas of ADHD, bullying and parenting education.

Ralph Carson, R.D. B.S., B.H.S., Ph.D
Consultant, Gratitude Program

Ralph Carson, R.D. B.S., B.H.S., Ph.D., is a nationally recognized clinical nutritionist and exercise physiologist. Dr. Carson is a frequently requested speaker on a variety of nutritional topics for medical groups, pharmaceutical companies, universities, athletic training camps and corporations. He has a successful clinical practice as well as being a faculty member of the University of Alabama at Huntsville for over 20 years. Dr. Carson is also a nutritional advisor to numerous university athletic departments including the University of Tennessee National Basketball Champion Lady Volunteers. Dr. Carson received his B.S. from Duke University, his B.H.S. in pathology from Duke University Medical School, and his Ph.D. in nutrition from Auburn University.

Ted Crawford, LMFT
Employee Assistance Program, Gratitude and Pine Grove Outpatient Services, Adult Psychology

Ted Crawford LMFT, provides psychotherapy for clients through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) of Forrest General Hospital and at the Gratitude and Pine Grove Outpatient Services (PGOS) programs of Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services, He earned his undergraduate degree in Education in 1987 and his master’s degree in marriage and family therapy in1995 from the University of Southern Mississippi. Ted has also completed training in the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address trauma issues. His background includes work as an educator prior to coming to Pine Grove. In addition to working at EAP, Gratitude and PGOS currently, Pine Grove has also benefitted from Ted’s work at the Child & Adolescent Day Treatment and Professional Enhancement Programs and on the inpatient adult psychiatric unit. He enjoys writing and has written numerous informative (and entertaining) articles on clinical topics in a format that is easily understood by both professionals and patients. Ted has been employed with Pine Grove since 1998 and working with the EAP since 2001.

Jennifer DeFreese, BS
Physician Relations Coordinator

Jennifer DeFreese is the Physician Relations Coordinator for Pine Grove Outpatient Services at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. Her responsibilities include providing support services for Pine Grove’s Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology (PG-DIPP). She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration from University of Alabama. Jennifer has been employed with Pine Grove since 1997 and, in addition to her many other duties, providing invaluable administrative support services and education for Pine Grove’s Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology since 2011.

Albert DeVillier, MD
Pine Grove Outpatient Services, Adult Psychiatry

Dr. Devillier received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He completed a residency at Charity Hospital-LSU Service in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Devillier is retired from the Louisiana and Mississippi State Department of Health. Dr. Devillier is board certified in Geriatric Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Devillier joined the Pine Grove Staff in 2007. He currently sees adult patients in Pine Grove’s outpatient clinic for assessment and medication management.

Stewart Eaton, LPC
Gratitude Program

Stewart Eaton is a clinical therapist with the Gratitude Program at Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services. Stewart earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The University of Mississippi and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Mississippi with over 14 years of experience as a therapist. Stewart is skilled in treating a variety of concerns including mood regulation difficulties, sexual addiction, chemical addiction, and healthy boundaries and communication skills for families.

Sergio Gutierrez, LCSW, BCBA
Pine Grove Outpatient Services, Adult Psychology

Sergio Gutierrez received his Masters degree in social work from Southern University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is board certified in social work and has over 18 years of professional experience in a variety of clinical settings. Sergio is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is a board certified behavior analyst with specialty training in autism. He is also an Adjunct Professor and Field Supervisor for the University of Southern Mississippi School of Social Work.

Brooke Helton
Dietitian, Gratitude Program

Brooke Helton works as a Registered Dietitian and has been a part of Pine Grove's team since 2007. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Mississippi State University where she also completed her dietetic internship. Brooke works primarily with the dual diagnosis patients in meeting their nutrition goals and challenging their eating disorders.

Philip Hemphill, Ph.D., LCSW
Program Director and Adjunct Supervisor, Professional Enhancement Program

Dr. Philip Hemphill has been the Director of the Professional Enhancement Program at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services since 2002. He is responsible for the management and clinical supervision of professional patients in an intensive outpatient/residential setting, who are struggling with addictive and personality disorders. He assists with the evaluation, treatment planning, and direct clinical care, fitness for duty issues, staff training, vocational and professional reintegration, workplace monitoring, staff development, coaching, and administrative management of the program.

Dr. Hemphill has pioneered the assessment and treatment of professionals with ‘Disruptive’ behavior which includes validating a monitoring instrument (DBI) and he co-authored a book in 2013 named, Taming Disruptive Behavior, published by the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE.) Since 1990, Dr. Hemphill has presented papers and workshops at national conferences and published articles in the fields of trauma, personality disorders, and addictions.

He has been an adjunct professor at Tulane University’s School of Social Work since 1997, and an Assistant Clinical Professor at Louisiana State University’s Health Sciences Center, Department of Psychiatry, since 2000. He received both his Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Tulane University. Dr. Hemphill is an adjunct supervisor for interns working on the Professional Enhancement Program Rotation.

Ashley Holford, LCSW
Employee Assistance Program and Pine Grove Outpatient Services, Adult Psychology

Ashley Holford, LCSW, provides psychotherapy services for clients through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) of Forrest General Hospital and the Pine Grove Outpatient Services Program. Ashley earned her undergraduate degree in Public Administration from the University of Mississippi in 1994 and her master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1997. Her background includes work as a clinical therapist at Pine Grove’s adult, adolescent and children’s inpatient units conducting group, family and individual therapy. Ashley also has experience with geriatric psychiatric treatment as well as hospice social work. Ashley has been employed with Pine Grove since 1997 and has been working with the EAP program and as an outpatient clinical therapist since 2001.

Janie Kamp, LCSW
Coordinator, Employee Assistance Program

Janie Kamp is the Coordinator of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) of Forrest General Hospital (FGH). In addition to providing psychological services to FGH employees and their family members, EAP also contracts to provide psychological services for employees of area companies. Janie earned her undergraduate degree in child development from Mississippi State University in 1981 and her master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1994. Her background includes work in medical social work, home health and geriatric psychiatry. Janie has been employed with Pine Grove since 1998 and working with EAP since 1999.

Dr. Peter Kamp is a 1986 graduate of University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed the residency program at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. in 1990 and a Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship in 1991. Dr. Kamp is board certified is a member of the American Medical Association. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He joined the Pine Grove staff in 1991 and serves as a Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist at Forrest General Hospital. He currently sees patients in Pine Grove’s outpatient clinic and in the Professional Enhancement Program for assessment and medication management.

Deepak Khemka, MD
Psychiatrist and Sleep Medicine
Outpatient and Inpatient Adult Psychiatry

Dr. Deepak Khemka is board certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine. He joined the Pine Grove medical staff in 2012. He completed his psychiatry residency in 2011, followed by one year full time fellowship in Sleep Medicine, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Khemka also teaches third and fourth year medical students from William Carey University. Dr. Khemka currently works as a staff psychiatrist on the adult psychiatric unit at Pine Grove and see patients on an outpatient basis for sleep medicine evaluations and follow up. Dr. Manpreet Khemka graduated from the Government Medical College in Aurangabad, India in 2004 and completed her residency at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Dr. Khemka joined Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services as a staff psychiatrist in 2014 and is a member of the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, and Mississippi Psychiatric Association. Dr. Khemka primarily sees patients on the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit located on Pine Grove’s main campus in Hattiesburg, MS.

Gratitude and Professional Enhancement Programs

Mimi Leeds holds a Bachelor of Arts in both psychology and dance from Sarah Lawrence College and a Master's Degree from Hunter College. Currently, living in Houston, Texas, she works as a certified Life and Wellness coach in private practice. She also has an established Skype therapy practice focusing on addiction, trauma resolution, lifestyle coaching and as a facilitator of her individualized healthy weight, and balanced life program. Her past experience includes working as a department head and therapist for River Oaks Psychiatric hospital in New Orleans for seventeen years. She has also been a group leader for onsite workshops in Nashville TN, and as a group therapist for Arizona Family Therapy Intensives. She has been a national speaker and created workshops focusing on the use of creative arts therapy in the treatment for adult survivors of trauma as well as self-care, compassion and nurturance as a means to healing and growth.

Britney Mangum, LMFTA

Britney Mangum is a clinical therapist at Gratitude, Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. She earned her master’s degree in Child and Family Studies as well as a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, both from the University of Southern Mississippi. Britney previously completed her internship at the Gratitude program. Her background includes work with individuals who have experienced sexual and physical abuse, as well as well as individuals in crisis, with a range of severity of psychological problems.

James Montgomery, MD
Psychiatric Consultant
Gratitude Program

James C. "Jes" Montgomery, MD is the Primary Psychiatric Consultant for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services' sexual addiction treatment program, named Gratitude. Dr. Montgomery began working in the chemical dependency field in 1985 as a Family Physician, earning his Addiction Medicine certification in 1987 and becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine in 2009. After returning to Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans in 1992, Dr. Montgomery completed a Psychiatry residency in 1995 and attained board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1999.

Since 1997, he has worked in residential treatment, and helped professionals with licensure issues related to addiction and boundary violations. After eight years as the Medical Director for Santé Center for Healing, he became the Psychiatric Director for Pine Grove's world-renowned Gratitude program and held that position until 2014. He is now a consultant to the Gratitude program. Dr. Montgomery was certified as a Sex Addiction Therapist and Supervisor by IITAP in 2011, having first trained in sexual addiction treatment in 1988.

His addiction work focuses on the family and the long-term aspects of recovery. Dr. Montgomery has worked with multiple addictions throughout his career including sex, gambling, and eating disorders. Dr. Montgomery has presented in the areas of pharmacology in addictions, boundaries and ethics, sexuality, sexual trauma and sexual addiction, sexuality and spirituality, grief and LGBT issues.

Sally Moody, LCSW
Clinical Therapist

Sally Moody is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Therapist with the Professional Enhancement Program (PEP) at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. She received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS and her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Denver in Denver, CO. Moody has experience with chemical dependency case management with Arapahoe House, Inc. and in evaluating and monitoring medical professionals with the Colorado Physician Health Program, both in Denver, Colorado. She previously worked with Pine Grove's Legacy program developing, implementing, and treating addiction in adults age 55 and older.

Teresa Mulvihill, MD
Outpatient and Inpatient Adult Psychiatry

Dr. Mulvihill is a graduate of the University Of Mississippi School Of Medicine where she also completed her psychiatry residency. Dr. Mulvihill is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and a member of the American Psychiatric Association as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Dr. Mulvihill joined the Pine Grove staff in 2008. She currently sees patients in an outpatient setting for assessment, medication management, and psychotherapy through the Pine Grove Outreach Center of Madison and works in a variety of programs in Hattiesburg including the Addiction IOP program and the Evaluation Center for Professionals.

Russell Rainey, MS, LPC
Director, Legacy Program for Older Adults

Russell Rainey is the Director of the Legacy program at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. Rainey completed his Bachelor's degree in Religion and Biblical Studies and Language before earning his Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Rainey holds a license in Professional Counseling and has over 10 years of experience in the addiction treatment field. Prior to joining Legacy, Russell Rainey served as the Clinical Director of Pine Grove’s Next Step treatment program for men.

Deborah Schiller, LPC, CSAT-S, CMAT-S-S
Director and Adjunct Supervisor, Gratitude Program

Deborah Schiller is the Program Director of Gratitude (formally known as "Gentle Path"), a Pine Grove Program. She is a native of Huntsville, AL, where she completed three years of study at the University of Alabama in Huntsville before finishing her degree at Montevallo University in Montevallo, AL. Ms. Schiller taught School in Selma, AL for three years before getting her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Stanford, University in Stanford, CA. She began her family in New York City and taught in schools in Boston, MA, Huntsville, AL, and Redlands, CA. While raising three children, she returned to school, receiving her second Masters degree from The University of South Alabama, Baldwin County, AL, this time in Counseling. Ms. Schiller completed an Internship at The Meadows Treatment Center in Wickenburg, AZ and became a Therapist there. In 2004, Ms. Schiller joined Pine Grove and the Professional Enhancement Program as a Clinical Therapist. She has since worked at Pine Grove's Gratitude Program as Primary Therapist, Clinical Director, and is the current Program Director.

David Sellers, M.Div.

Gratitude and Professional Enhancement Program

David Sellers served as associate pastor at Parkway Heights from 2005-2011. He is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, a member of the Order of St. Luke and part of SDI (Spiritual Directors International). He has over 20 years of experience in ministry as a youth director, retreat leader, hospital chaplain and church pastor. He received his M.Div. from Emory University with emphasis in Spiritual Formation.

David facilitates group and one-on-one spiritual direction across all programs at Pine Grove.

Allison Sutton, MBA
Program Coordinator, Evaluation Center

Allison Sutton is the Program Coordinator for the Pine Grove Evaluation Center. Prior to this position, she was a National Business Development Coordinator for Pine Grove and traveled nationally to promote the hospital. As program coordinator of the Evaluation Center, she supervises the daily operations, specifically the scheduling of patient evaluations, assigning caseloads, and the daily agenda schedule for each patient.

In addition, she continues to maintain marketing and referral contacts and assists with general business development as needed. She has been employed with Pine Grove for 10 years. Prior to her job in Business Development, she was employed as the Data Specialist with the Professional Enhancement Program for 2 years. She has over 15 years of clinical experience working with trauma, eating disorders, sexual addiction and compulsivity, chemical dependency, and dual diagnosis issues. Allison received her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and also has a degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University, and a degree in Criminal Justice from Loyola University. She is currently working on her Masters in Public Health Services Administration at the University of Southern Mississippi. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the National Association of Professional Women, and volunteers with the Parkinson’s Research. Recently, she was named Professional Woman of the Year in Healthcare in 2009-2010 from the National Association of Professional Women.

Diane Walker, MD
Medical Director
Psychiatrist/Addictionologist, Gratitude Program

Dr. Walker has been with Pine Grove since 1991 and serves as the medical director for psychiatric services at Forrest General Hospital. She is a 1986 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She completed a psychiatry residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in 1991. Dr. Walker is board certified in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry, a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as well as the American Psychiatric Association. She is also certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine. She currently sees patients in Pine Grove’s outpatient clinic and in the Gratitude program for assessment and medication management.

Roland Johnson
Experiential Therapist

Roland Johnson has worked for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services since 1993. He currently serves as the Outreach Coordinator for Pine Grove’s REACH Program, which stands for Realistic Experiences and Challenging Horizons. REACH is an experiential therapy ropes course for Pine Grove’s residential patients. Each participant accomplishes key goals by pushing themselves past their personal comfort levels. This experience enhances the patients’ self confidence, communication skills, and self esteem while increasing their teamwork and trust building skills. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Coaching and Sports Administration, Johnson completed his certification as a ropes course facilitator and trainer. In 2012, Johnson received the "We C.A.R.E. Award" presented by Forrest General Hospital. This award recognizes staff members who make a positive impact on the patient’s experience.

Amanda Kirtland, LPC
Gratitude Program

Amanda Kirtland is a clinical therapist with Gratitude of Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Masters in Community Counseling from the University of South Alabama. Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has clinical experience working in a variety of settings including residential, outpatient, and partial hospitalization. She has worked with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues, adults with severe mental illness, the local Drug Court program, and adults with vocational and relational issues, maladaptive personality problems, disruptive workplace behavior, addiction, and sexual issues.

Lacey Herrington
Postdoctoral Psychology Fellow
Evaluation Center and Professionals Recovery Track

Dr. Lacey Herrington is a postdoctoral fellow with the Evaluation Center at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services. She is also a co-group leader of the Professionals Recovery Track, which provides daily group therapy addressing issues of professionalism for professionals receiving treatment in Pine Grove’s residential programs. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Mississippi State University in 2008, as well as her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2015. Dr. Herrington completed her pre-doctoral internship at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, LA from 2014-2015. Her primary interests include: assessment, personality disorders, substance use disorders, forensic psychology, and trauma. She is an adjunct supervisor for interns working on the Outpatient Services Rotation.

Mallory Malkin, Ph.D

Dr. Mallory Malkin is a licensed Psychologist providing outpatient assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services in Hattiesburg, MS. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. Dr. Malkin earned her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. She successfully completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center/G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center. Following her internship, Dr. Malkin completed her postdoctoral training at Mississippi State University and joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Mississippi University for Women. Dr. Malkin has presented over sixteen presentations, published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals, and co-authored a book chapter on anti-social behavior in children and adolescents. The majority of Dr. Malkin’s research focuses on child maltreatment, narcissism, psychopathology, and internalizing symptomatology. Dr. Malkin is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) among other evidenced based treatment approaches. Dr. Malkin’s areas of expertise include child maltreatment, child and adolescent anxiety and mood disorders, behavioral and emotional disturbances, as well as ADHD. She is the primary supervisor for externs working with children and adolescents on Pine Grove’s inpatient unit.

Psychology Internship Program

Pine Grove has an excellent internship program that offers a wide range of training activities in our three rotations. We are able to offer interns opportunities for training in residential and outpatient settings working with adults, adolescents, and children. We are APA accredited as a single entity pre-doctoral psychology internship program under the name of Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services, Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology (PG-DIPP).
