Pine Grove Drug Dogs

Derrick Guinn, Pine Grove Cannine Handler Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services is home to a unique staff member named Tebow. He is Pine Grove’s drug dog and Tebow can often be found with his accomplished handler and full time Pine Grove employee, Derrick Guinn. Tebow uses his specialized talents to keep Pine Grove’s campus free from harmful substances that could negatively impact our patients’ recovery, and he also helps patients during recreational and therapeutic activities. Pine Grove has had an on-campus drug dog for many years and Tebow is an important member of our recovery team. Guinn also worked extensively with Pine Grove’s very first drug dog, Samantha.


Hershey (2014 - Current)

Hershey, the Pine Grove Therapy DogHershey Kiss is the latest addition to the Pine Grove team of therapy dogs. Hershey has been busy the past year participating in training to become a certified therapy dog. She makes rounds visiting patients in various Pine Grove programs and soon will be able to participate with patients in group therapy sessions.


Tebow (2011 - Current)

Tebow, the Pine Grove Drug DogTebow joined Pine Grove in 2011. Our four-legged friend completed obedience training and mastered vital search-and-find skills. Tebow makes regular rounds at Pine Grove’s facilities to locate any drugs, alcohol, and prescription medication. Tebow is named after former NFL quarterback, Tim Tebow. Our drug dog came to Pine Grove from an Arkansas group that raises dogs specifically for service jobs.


Samantha (2003 - 2013)

Samantha, the 1st Pine Grove Drug DogSamantha, “Sam” was Pine Grove’s first canine team member. She began her career at Pine Grove in 2003 and was certified in drug detection to ensure drugs and alcohol wouldn’t hamper the recovery process of our patients. Sam quickly became a part of the Pine Grove family and is greatly missed by our team.

Psychology Internship Program

Pine Grove has an excellent internship program that offers a wide range of training activities in our three rotations. We are able to offer interns opportunities for training in residential and outpatient settings working with adults, adolescents, and children. We are APA accredited as a single entity pre-doctoral psychology internship program under the name of Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services, Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology (PG-DIPP).
