Christian Counseling Program
Forrest General Hospital is pleased to offer a Christian Counseling Program. This program specializes in helping individuals, couples and families who are needing assistance with emotional or relationship issues, but want the counsel they receive to come from a Christian perspective. The psychologists that provide counseling in our program have been trained in both theology and psychology. They hold to the belief that our relationship with God affects all other experiences and relationships in life. Therefore, spiritual issues need to be considered and addressed as we seek to understand and change the problems that emerge in our lives.
The psychologists in our Christian Counseling Program have experience in dealing with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, addiction, chronic pain, trauma, marital/family conflict, parenting and stress-management. Improving these often complicated issues is based on a belief that we are relational beings and healing comes through relationship, with others and with God. We strive to provide a safe relationship in which this healing can begin, and assist those that are hurting to improve other broken relationships, with self, others and God. We are respectful in our treatment and address spiritual issues based on the comfort level of each person.
The Christian Counseling Program provides a variety of services, including individual counseling, couples counseling, family counseling, pre-marital counseling and group therapy. We also provide testing and assessment services, such as pre-marital assessment that informs pre-marital counseling, learning disability/cognitive assessment, career testing, pre-surgical evaluations and psychological evaluations for various purposes.
We have highly trained psychologists on staff to provide Christian counseling services.
