

Adjunct Supervisors for Psychology Interns

Ed Anderson, Ph.D. As Clinical Director of the Pine Grove Evaluation Center, Dr Ed Anderson coordinates the comprehensive evaluation of professionals (e.g., physicians, lawyers, nurses) who are having problems with substance abuse, sexual compulsivity, problematic behavior in the workplace (e.g., boundary issues, disruptive behavior), personality disorder (e.g., narcissism, sociopathy, etc.), or problems with depression and anxiety. His professional interest is focused on the area of personality disorders. He performs a variety of psychological testing services, including objective and projective assessment, psychosexual assessment, intelligence testing, assessment of eating disorders, and personality testing. He also conducts group therapy. Dr. Anderson is a licensed psychologist who received his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Brigham Young University in 1998. He completed his doctoral psychology internship at the Southern Mississippi Psychology Internship Consortium. He serves as an adjunct supervisor when interns are on the PEP Rotation. |

Leah Claire Bennett, Ph.D. Dr. Bennett is a licensed psychologist with the Professional Enhancement Program of Pine Grove Behavioral Health. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Baylor University in Waco, TX and her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. Dr. Bennett currently works with professionals who are having vocational and relational issues, maladaptive personality problems, addiction, and sexual issues. She provides individual, group, and family therapy using a multi-modal approach which integrates biological, psychological, systematic, and addictive interventions. Dr. Bennett was an intern at SMPIC during the 2005-2006 intern year. She is an adjunct supervisor to interns when they are on the PEP Rotation. |

Anthony Calabrese, Ph.D. Dr. Calabrese is the Director of Psychology and Pine Grove Outpatient Services and serves as the Chief Psychologist (administrator in charge) of the internship for Pine Grove. He is a licensed psychologist who received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1996. He completed his doctoral psychology internship at the VA Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Calabrese is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and is a member of APA. Dr. Calabrese is responsible for the weekly Intern Seminar series and occasionally does supervision. |

Greg Futral, Ph.D. Dr. Futral is a licensed psychologist at the Gentle Path treatment program with Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services. He earned his master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1999, as well as his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2010. He began working for Pine Grove in 2000 on the Adult Psychiatric Inpatient Unit as a clinical therapist, and he served as a therapist on the Alcohol and Drug Inpatient Unit as well. Dr. Futral completed his predoctoral internship at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi, MS, providing assessment and clinical services to veterans with various difficulties, such as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, depression, chronic pain, and traumatic brain injury. His dissertation research was in the area of motivational enhancement interventions and anger. His background includes work with individuals in acute crisis, with a range of severity of psychological problems, with chemical addictions in a residential setting, as well as training and experience with cognitive-behavioral treatment for problematic anger. Dr. Futral has been with the Gentle Path program since 2009, and he is currently pursing certification as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. He is also a National Certified Counselor. He works with interns as an adjunct supervisor at Gentle Path, and assists with coordination of and conducting the Assessment Seminar for the internship. |

Sergio Gutierrez, LCSW, BCBA Sergio Gutierrez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with the Pine Grove Child and Adolescent Outpatient Program. He received his Bachelors degree from Louisiana State University and Masters in Social Work from Southern University in New Orleans. He completed additional graduate work in Applied Behavioral Analysis through Florida Institute of Technology. He is a field supervisor for the University of Southern Mississippi School of Social Work. He works mainly with the Pine Grove Child and Adolescent outpatient autism program. He presently provides services to children, adolescents, and their families in home based, schools, and outpatient settings. He has also provided services to children and adolescent in day treatment and inpatient settings. He is an Adjunct Supervisor to interns while they are on the Child and Adolescent Rotation. |

Diana Mesrobian, LCSW Diana Mesrobian received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi. She pursued her LCSW while practicing as a Clinical Therapist at Edgewood Children’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri, an intensive residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed youth. She continued her career in social work for several years as a Clinical Therapist for an adventure-based wilderness camp for juvenile offenders in Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Mesrobian started working with Pine Grove Outpatient Services in 2005, where she helped develop “Choices,” an outpatient substance abuse treatment program for adolescents. She is a member of the Treatment Team for the Forrest County Juvenile Drug Court, and provides both individual and group therapy for participating clients. She is also a clinical therapist with the Pine Grove Outpatient Services at Lincoln Center serving adolescents and families outside of the Choices program who are dealing with substance abuse as well as depression and anxiety related disorders. She has been a field instructor with the USM School of Social Work for the past 4 years and is a member of the University’s Social Work Advisory Board. Interns work with her outpatient Choices group while on the Child and Adolescent Rotation. |

Criag Paterson, Ph.D. Dr. Paterson is a licensed psychologist at Pine Grove Outpatient Services. He received his degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1980. He completed his doctoral psychology internship at the New Orleans VA Medical Center. He does psychological assessments for Pine Grove’s Evaluation Center and psychotherapy with adults, primarily in group settings. Dr. Paterson runs the Depression Group with the interns when they are on the Adult/Behavioral Medicine Rotation. He also runs the Opioid Treatment Group. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Mississippi Psychological Association. Dr. Paterson serves as an adjunct supervisor on the Adult/Behavioral Medicine Rotation for the Depression group and he leads the weekly Adult and EAP Staffing meeting. As a former Director of Training, he is available for consultation on any matters related to the internship. |

Christina Williams, Ph.D. Christina Williams, Ph.D. is a post-doctoral fellow and clinical therapist with the Professional Enhancement Program of Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services. She earned her undergraduate degree and her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from The University of Mississippi. Christina has done professional presentations related to children and is co-author of a book chapter examining cultural issues involved in the assessment and treatment of children. She has also worked with adults in inpatient, residential and outpatient settings with addictive disorders and personality issues. Currently, Dr. Williams works with professionals with vocational, relational, sexual and/or personality issues, addiction, and disruptive workplace behavior. She also does work with Pine Grove’s child and adolescent outpatient services. She works with interns as an adjunct supervisor at PEP and will help to supervise on the Child and Adolescent Rotation once licensed. She was a predoctoral psychology intern at Pine Grove in 2009-2010. |
